We recently decided to drive up to Cedar Breaks Monument, a short drive from Cedar City. It’s been cold lately, and some fresh snow fell lately. That should have been our clue that it might be too early to make this trip.
It was a beautiful drive up the canyon! The red rock was amazing. Then we realized that we were going up in elevation - fast!
we got snow flurries several during the ascent. Then we saw more snow along the road. As we topped out at 10,000’ we saw the turn to Cedar Breaks. As you can see, the road is closed! By this time it’s 37 degrees. So we turned around and headed back down.
